Long before AneStaff had a name, we were having conversations with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and healthcare leaders across the country. They shared their thoughts about what a better staffing experience could look like. They spoke of opportunities that aligned with career goals, less administrative friction, greater transparency, and partnerships built on trust. It became clear this was a shared vision emerging from the entire anesthesia community.

Meet the People Behind AneStaff
H. Philip Owens, MD
FOUNDER
For more than two decades, Philip has practiced anesthesiology as a partner in a physician-owned group, in a management services organization, and as an independent contractor, giving him a firsthand view of the anesthesia labor market from every angle a staffing company touches.
That vantage point taught him something most staffing agencies overlook: the problems anesthesia professionals face aren’t a temporary shortage to wait out. They’re structural. Assignments that don’t match what was promised. Credentialing delays that stall income for weeks. Communication that goes quiet the moment a contract is signed. These aren’t occasional missteps — they’re what happens when clinicians are treated as interchangeable coverage instead of people with careers to nurture.
Philip founded AneStaff on a different premise: that a company led by clinicians could build something better, one relationship at a time. As AneStaff grows, that premise isn’t up for negotiation. Communication stays direct. Credentialing stays fast. And no provider is ever just a name on a schedule.
Dr. Owens continues to practice anesthesiology while leading AneStaff, keeping the company closely connected to the people and profession it was created to serve.

Idara M. Umoh serves as Strategic Growth Advisor to AneStaff, bringing nearly three decades of experience across healthcare delivery, hospital-based physician staffing, corporate development, entrepreneurship, and enterprise growth.
Previously, as Chief Growth Officer of a physician-led hospital medicine organization, Idara has developed health-system partnerships and growth strategies at the intersection of client needs, physician workforce considerations, clinical quality, and sustainable program performance across her career. She has served in other C-suite and executive roles, in both established and start-up companies, helping advance the growth of transformative, patient-centered care models across sites of care.
Today, Idara is the founder of several successful healthcare start-ups, providing consulting, medtech, and SaaS services in complex specialty care settings. Across her work, she has remained focused on a central conviction: provider experience is inseparable from care quality and business performance. When clinicians are heard, supported, and treated as partners, healthcare organizations are better positioned to build stable teams, strengthen continuity, and deliver better care.
